Okay, Glee fans. It’s time to grab a big red pen and dig out those wall calendars. We have some very important dates for you to mark: Glee’s Season 5 premiere and winter finale.
On June 26, FOX announced that the fifth season of our favorite musical comedy will premiere on Thursday, September 19, at 9 p.m. So far, there’s been no announcement about when the show will have it’s big midseason finale — usually marked by some sort of scandalous or shocking cliffhanger — but thanks to some simple math, we have a pretty good idea of when it will be.
Over the past few seasons Glee has aired about nine or 10 episodes before entering into the TV standard winter hiatus. Usually, these episodes are broken up by random mini-breaks, usually for sports games or other TV shows. However, FOX entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said back in May that he planned to air Glee week-after-week this fall with no random weeks off in between.
Assuming that nothing has changed, that would put Glee’s midseason finale at either November 14 or November 21— between four to six weeks earlier than previous years! After that, the show will take an extended break all the way until Spring 2014, when the second half of Season 5 airing into summer.
Are you excited about Glee’s break-free run of episodes, or would you rather put up with a few breaks to make the huge hiatus seem shorter? Hit the comments to let us know your thoughts!
