It may not seem like the glorious and terrible season finale season is closing in, but the end is nigh, friends. When will we have to say a temporary goodbye to The Originalsfor summer hiatus? Read on to find out!
The Season 2 finale of The Originals will air on Monday, May 11th at 8 p.m. ET. For those keeping track at home, that means we have only six episodes in what is shaping up to be a glorious sophomore outing for our favorite vampire drama spin-off. Then, we head into an The Originals drought only made marginally easier by the creation and consumption of fanvids, fanart, fanfiction, and by the debate and discussion of what is sure to be a crazy cliffhanger on Tumblr — and, of course, here at Wetpaint.
The Originals is the first of The CW shows to go on hiatus, followed closely by Jane the Virgin, which wraps up its freshman season the same night. Arrow will come to a season close on May 13th, followed by The Vampire Diaries and Reign on May 14th. The Flash ends on May 19th, and Supernatural closes out its season on May 20th. It will most likely be a very emotional couple of weeks. Our bodies are not ready.
You know what makes it less emotional, however? The fact that all of those shows have been renewed for another season. Yep, that’s right! We will be getting at least one more season of The Originals, Jane the Virgin, TVD, The Flash, Arrow, and Supernatural. All hail the TV gods. This makes season finale season so much more enjoyable to watch.
The Originals airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
