When Is the Vampire Diaries Season 6 Finale?

If you’re a big fan of Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries you’re not alone. Finally our beloved show has rebounded from its slump and delivered a solid season full of twists, deaths, and romance that gets fans excited. And while we’ve still got a little while before we bid Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Elena (Nina Dobrev), and the rest of the Mystic Falls adieu for a bit, it’s a good time to mark the Season 6 finale date on your calendar: May 14, 2015.

This season has been about Damon and Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) journey back to their friends and family while more of the Gemini Coven plotline has been woven in. Right now things are semi-calm, all except the fact that Caroline (Candice Accola) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) have both turned their humanity off and are on a blood-fueled rampage. We’ve lost Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) and Luke (Chris Brochu) while Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) has flown the coop. In much happier news, Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) are pregnant and engaged. It’s been a wild ride, you guys!

So what can we expect with the Season 6 finale? While we don’t know much, executive producer Julie Plec did just tease that we’ll be weeping during the sure-to-be-epic hour. While she did try to throw us for a loop by brushing that spoiler off, we’ve been down this path five times before and have never been let down by the show’s season enders. If there’s one thing The Vampire Diaries knows how to do, it’s finales.

Are you ready for the Season 6 finale? What do you think will happen? Hit the comments and sound off!

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
