The Bachelor 2014: When Does Juan Pablo Galavis’ Season 18 Begin Filming?

Update 9/17/13: On Tuesday, September 17, Reality Steve posted that he's pretty sure The Bachelor filming will begin tonight!

Updated Story 9/16/13:Happy Monday, everyone! While we still have nearly four months until Bachelor 2014 with Juan Pablo Galavis begins airing on January 6. But guys? We're pretty sure that things are happening, because on September 15, JPG took it to Twitter to talk real with the Bachelor execs.

"Are the THREE of us LIVETWEETING @fleissmeister @Millsy11374 during my THING?" Juan Pabs asked Mike Fleiss and Robert Mills. "@JuanPaGalavis @fleissmeister yes!! Just step into the bathroom every few minutes. No one will suspect a thing!" Millsy replied, to which JPG said "WILL do!" And while Juan Pablo loves to tweet with the boys sometimes, we think that the urgency of his asking is finally for a good reason.

Mike Fleiss tweeted an ominous, "The journey is about to begin!!!!" on the morning of September 16. While this isn't the most dramatic tweet ever, seeing as we heard the 25 bachelorettes would be arriving this past weekend to Los Angeles, we're pretty sure things are in the works.

For his part, Sean Lowe was confirmed as the Season 17 Bachelor on September 25, 2012, the day after filming began. His 26 women were flown into Los Angeles a few days prior, and the season began airing on January 7, 2013. Wow — it seems like just yesterday we were meeting the women who competed for Sean’s heart. Can you believe we’re about to do it all over again?

As with every season, the filming lasts for about six weeks, with hometown dates taking place almost exactly a month after the show begins. Catherine Giudici brought Sean home to Seattle on October 29, 2012, taking him on a tour of Pike Place Market before her sisters rained on her parade at dinner.

Although the announcement of the next Bachelor usually doesn’t happen until mid-September, ABC used Desiree Hartsock’s emotional Season 9 After the Final Rose as the platform for their big announcement.

Are you excited to meet Juan Pablo's ladies? Start here.
