Orange Is the New Black: Where Did “Chocolate and Vanilla Swirl” Come From? (VIDEO)
If the line "how come everyone calls me Crazy Eyes?" didn't break your heart, we're not sure what to tell you. Over the course of Orange Is the New Black's first season, Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren (Uzo Aduba) went from what felt like almost a joke — oh man, Piper has a prison wife, and she's cra-cra-cra-craaazy! — to one of the most layered, nuanced, and fascinating characters in the entire show.
In preparation for Season 2, which airs on June 6, get a refresher on why this character won your heart last year with this in-depth look at Suzanne.
In the video below, Uzo reflects on her character, commenting that Suzanne is "point to point passion, always. She acts, and then thinks. She's always living from a passionate place, and its always coming from a place of well intention, and of love."
Uzo adds that "there's no facade with Suzanne, and that's something I really respect a lot about her, because what you see is what you get." Very true! And the more we see of her, the more we learn how kind she really is at heart.
