Which Song Was Usher’s First Top Single?

Usher has built a career on crooner and making the ladies love him with a string of hit songs under his belt — and a few Grammy Awards too — but do you know which song was Usher’s first top single?

Well, if you guessed his 1997 jam, “You Make Me Wanna,” you are absolutely correct, and when Wetpaint Entertainment asked Viggle Live! viewers the same question, about 56 percent of the responders got it right, too!

Sadly, 31 percent of voters thought that Usher’s single, “My Way” was his claim to musical fame, while a small 13 percent thought it was his single “Nice & Slow.”

Surprisingly enough, while “You Make Me Wanna” was Usher’s first major hit, it wasn’t his debut song. As a matter of face, Usher’s first single was the song “Can U Get Wit It,” which was released off of his self-titled debut album, Usher, back in 1994 when he was just 16 years old. Unfortunately the song wasn’t a massive hit, but when Usher came back in 1997 with his sophomore album, My Way, all the ladies learned who he was and just how to spell his name, too.
