Sure, he was no Heath Ledger, but Aaron Eckhart also had a memorable role in The Dark Knight — playing hero district attorney Harvey Dent, who eventually becomes the disfigured and maniacal villain Two-Face.
But the role could have looked very different if scheduling conflicts hadn't taken another Hollywood hunk out of the running.
Who would that be? That's what we asked Viggle LIVE! users. 13 percent thought that Tom Cruise nearly got Two-Face'd, which would have been funny because his then-wife, Katie Holmes, played Rachel in Batman Begins — a character who became Harvey's girlfriend in the second movie.
30 percent thought that it was George Clooney, though we'd hate to see that handsome face destroyed.
And 57 percent guessed the right answer: Matt Damon. IMDb touts that Matt, 36 at the time, had to turn down the Harvey Dent role because he had already committed his time to playing South African rugby player Francois Pienaar in the 2009 Clint Eastwood film, Invictus.
The decision paid off for Matt, though. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance, as did co-star Morgan Freeman for his turn as Nelson Mandela.
Now, Aaron is played a legendary freaky-faced fella of another nature — as the titular character in the modern-day action flick I, Frankenstein.
