Bachelorette 2014: Who Got Eliminated on Hometown Dates?
Welp, that’s it for another year. Hometown Dates went down on the July 7 episode of The Bachelorette, and Andi Dorfman was faced with four lovely (well, mostly) families to vet for her future in-laws. For as much as we look forward to this episode every season, this year’s outing felt especially short, which may have had to do with Eric Hill’s tragic death, and Chris Harrison’s task of informing everyone. The mourning was hard to watch, and made it especially heart-wrenching for Andi when she had to let go of one of the guys at the end of the night. So, who was it?
Hold on, we’ll get there. First, the 27-year-old had to jet around the country to check out her future digs. We had Nick Viall’s monster family of 15 to meet in Milwaukee, before stopping by Chris Soules’s Iowa farm for a plane-drawn confession of love. Then it was on to Josh Murray’s sports-filled family time in the Panhandle. Lastly, we checked in with Marcus Grodd’s adorable niece and European mother.
Unfortunately, even with the heavy news of Eric’s passing, she still had to pass out three roses and leave one guy wondering what he did wrong. After some tough-to-watch moments with Andi and Chris Harrison — when the Bachelorette broke down mid-ceremony — she did eventually re-enter and ultimately sent Marcus home.
It was tough to see the blue-eyed cutie go, but we felt this one coming from an emotional sea away. While Andi’s physical and love connections with Nick, Josh, and even Chris seemed to be progressing, she and Marcus had stalled out a little, even while he professed his love for her ad nauseum. Sadly, it didn’t seem like she was going to catch up to his strong feelings, and she even confessed as much. Still, when he told her, “I wanted to be that guy for you,” our hearts broke.
