Who Is “A”? Our Top 4 Suspects From Pretty Little Liars Season 5, Episode 7

"A" is back and doing their best to drive a wedge between the Liars on Pretty Little Liars Season 5, Episode 7 ("The Silence of E. Lamb"). We're still totally in the dark about who the Big Bad really is, and every week the signs seem to point in a new direction.

Who stood out as particularly shady this week? Here are the top four people we're suspecting right now.

Mona Vanderwaal

Why she might be "A": Mona (Janel Parrish) said it herself this week: You can call her a lot of things, but "amatuer" is not one of them. Is "A" 1.0 back in the game for real? The way she was staring at the Cavanaugh's house could totally be a mastermind observing her handiwork, and we know she's connected to Sydney, so it would be easy for her to find out that Hanna (Ashley Benson) drunkenly blabbed about New York.

Why she might not be "A": As we've said before, we've already seen this plot. While Mona doubling back and becoming "A" again would be something of a shock, we have a feeling the writers want a different person this time around.

Jenna Marshall

Why she might be "A": We've had our eyes on Jenna (Tammin Sursok) all season; this week, she became all the more suspicious because "A" clearly knows what Hanna told Sydney, and we know Jenna and Sydney are friends. Add one more point to the "Jenna could totally be 'A'" column.

Why she might not be "A": As always, we can't shake the feeling that Jenna is as much a victim as she is an aggressor in this game.

Alison DiLaurentis

Why she might be "A": Alison (Sasha Pieterse) showed her real mean girl talents this week with Hanna, reminding us that as much as she claims to have reformed, she has a dark side that's hard to get rid of. She's clearly not pleased that Hanna isn't under her thumb anymore; if she is "A", maybe she sent that text to the other Liars to try to get them to turn against Hanna as a form of punishment. Plus, she was caught on camera sneaking around outside Spencer's (Troian Bellisario) house, which is super suspicious.

Why she might not be "A": This story is clearly set up as "A" vs. Ali, and there's a whole lot of evidence that "A" really is out to get Ali.

Alison's Twin

Why she might be "A": We try not to bring up the "Ali has a twin" theory too often, since the writers have made it sound like they aren't going in that direction, but some episodes make it hard not to at least think about. What if the girl Spencer caught on camera wasn't Ali, but her (evil) twin? That would explain why she's wearing a totally different outfit than the one the Liars had seen Ali in last...

Why she might not be "A": Well, so far there's no solid evidence supporting the theory that such a twin even exists, which is kind of a big stumbling block for this theory.
