4. Alison DiLaurentis
Why she might be “A”: Spencer finally says what we’re all thinking when she tells Ali that she appears to be setting the Liars up for something. And the fact that the girls find the number for the Fitzgerald Art Foundation seems to suggest that Ali might have been getting money from Ezra’s fam for any number of creepy reasons.
Why she might not be: After seeing Ali’s vulnerable side last week on the bus, we’re having a harder and harder time thinking that she’s running the “A” team. And it’s hard to take anyone too seriously who is standing next to a gigantic painting of themselves, right?
Why she might be “A”: Yes, she had a seriously sexy scene with Emily. But she was also pretty suspicious as well. We get uneasy when people talk about photography on this show, as Aria explains to Paige about how the camera works. And Toby imploring Spencer to “look at the pages” sounds like he’s telling her to “look at the Paiges.” Could Paige be the one with the twin?
Why she might not be: Emily and Paige seem to be so in love that we just find it hard to believe Paige could be pure evil. That said, Paige did try to drown Emily. So there’s that.
Why he might be “A”: It’s quite suspicious that the girls find the phone number to the Fitzgerald Art Foundation, even if that happens in the fantasy sequence. And Toby sparking up a cigarette lighter after he hits Ezra, reminds us of the lighter found by Toby after the Season 3 fire. Is this a hint that Ezra started the fire?
Why he might not be: Spencer, Hanna, and Emily seem so convinced about Ezra being up to no good that the show has to be misleading us about what Ez is really up to. And Aria has such strong feelings for Fitz that it would just be too devastating for him to be ruining their lives.
Why she might be “A”: It’s Aria’s first time this season at the top of this list! But little clues keep making us suspect her. For example, after she wears a leopard-print dress while kissing Ezra near the end of the episode, we see a bunched-up leopard-print dress on the chair in the black-and-white dressing room. Hmm. And Aria’s camera convo with Paige was rather odd.
Why she might not be: We suppose it could all be an act, but Aria really doesn’t seem to have any idea about what Ezra is up to with his millions of hidden cameras. Her only offense these days is claiming to be in Syracuse when she’s really shacking up with Mr. Fitz.
