Gorgeous actress Kelly Overton made quite an impression playing Alcide’s werewolf companion Rikki Naylor in True Blood Season 5, and we’re glad to see her back for Season 6!
Kelly was born on August 28, 1978, and grew up in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. In high school she was a star athlete, mastering soccer, basketball, and the track hurdles. She relocated to New York City after graduation and studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, graduating with The Charles Jehlinger Award for Best Actor in her class.
This actress has serious theatrical chops, having performed in several regional Shakespeare shows and plays in NYC. She even made the leap to Broadway as Elaine Robertson (replacing a departing Alicia Silverstone) in a production of The Graduate, opposite Kathleen Turner and Jason Biggs.
After moving out West to LA, Kelly’s first notable television role was as angsty youth Rain Wilkens on All My Children from 2000 to 2001. She later grabbed parts on shows like The Practice, Criminal Minds, Psych, CSI: Miami, and Medium, among others. If her stunning cheekbones and green eyes look familiar, you might remember seeing her in a recurring role as Claire Sinclair on The CW’s reboot of Beauty and the Beast.
In addition to acting, Overton has screenwriting and directing credits for the 2008 feature film The Collective, which she co-wrote and co-directed with husband Judson Pearce Morgan.
We hope Kelly stays on True Blood as Alcide’s “main bitch” for many seasons to come!
