3. Jenna Marshall Why she might be “A”: Things are about to get very interesting now that Jenna (Tammin Sursok) can see — and now that the Liars know! It seems that Jenna was the one driving Emily (Shay Mitchell) to the cemetery, and Jenna also seemed familiar with the earring when she sees it by the bathroom sink. Whether this means that Jenna is just on the “A”-team or is actually in charge, it’s hard to say. But what we do know is that the bathrooms at Rosewood High are a very popular place to hang out.
Why she might not be: Jenna — who we now know is a huge pistachio fan — has a softer side, like when she was in tears at the end of last season and told the Liars that she’s not the one they should be afraid of. This suggests that perhaps Jenna isn’t quite diabolical enough to be “A,” which is also how we feel about Lucas (Brendan Robinson). But what we are sure of is that Jenna will likely be having an amazing garage sale to sell all her awesome sunglasses. Set a few pairs aside for us!
2. Melissa Hastings Why she might be “A”: Melissa was again M.I.A. this week, but she’s been alluded to frequently this season. And we can’t help but think that Mrs. Hastings is only helping Garrett because he has incriminating info on Melissa or knows something about her — which would explain what Garrett meant last week when he told Spence that he knew things that she wouldn’t want to hear. Plus, we know that Melissa hated Ali — and that she hates pretty much everyone else on the planet, for that matter.
Why she might not be: We agree that it would be all kinds of messed-up if Melissa is out to hurt her sister, not to mention that it would seem odd if Melissa tried to frame Jason for last season’s fire — as “A” appeared to — given that Melissa and Jason are related. But that’s what people on this show do — they act crazy! Plus, knowing this show, we wouldn’t be all that surprised to learn for some reason that Melissa isn’t actually related to Spencer. You never know!
1. Alison DiLaurentis Why she might be “A”: Right now, the person most likely to have been telling Mona what to do is Alison (Sasha Pieterse) (or her twin). The vision that Mona (Janel Parrish) had of Ali last week seemed to be the most telling sign that Ali is the “A” who’s really in charge. Plus, we keep catching glimpses of a red coat, both at the end of Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked,” and at the end of this week’s episode during the hoodie shopping spree. Or maybe red coats are just a hot fashion trend in Rosewood?
Why she might not be: Well, we still don’t know for sure that Ali even has a twin (although it’s more and more likely that she does). But it seems that Ali is causing more havoc now than she did before her “death.” And if we were Ali, we wouldn’t be too pleased that the memento that Aria picked to sum up their friendship was some earring that they found on the ground.
