Who Is Staff Sergeant Angie Johnson From The Voice Season 2?
From battle-torn war zones in the Middle East to The Voice stage, Staff Sergeant Angie Johnson has definitely had her share of high-pressure situations.
With her focus on defending her country, it wasn’t until her Air National Guard Band performed Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” that the singer considered a professional career in music. An audience member uploaded a video of the performance to YouTube and soon after she received millions of hits.
Angie has served in the Air Force and currently serves one weekend a month in the Missouri Air National Guard. She has been deployed seven times all over the world, most recently in Afghanistan where her vocal talents were “discovered.”
Voicehost Carson Daly found the video and went on a search to find Angie. Once he found her, he convinced Angie to audition for The Voice, and the rest is history.
Angie has been invited to perform on Fox and Friends, Entertainment Tonight, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
According to her Facebook page, she left the music business in January 2011 to pursue a bachelors degree in psychology to treat children and veterans who suffered PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder).
She made this decision “after many false starts and closed doors.” This could mean that she doesn’t make it past the first battle round, or Angie could be bluffing. Guess you’ll have to tune in to find out.
