Who Should Go Home on American Idol 2013 From the Top 6? 4/10/2013

With only six contestants left, it’s going to be difficult for viewers to decide who to send home on American Idol 2013. Each of the Top 6 contestants had the chance to perform two songs, one from the Burt Bacharach/Hal David songbook and one song the singer wish he/she had written.

Angie Miller kicked things off the evening with her rendition of “Anyone Who Had a Heart,” which the judges enjoyed but criticized for lacking emotional depth. She redeemed herself later in the evening by singing Kari Jobe’s “Love Came Down” while playing the piano.

When it came to Amber Holcomb, she seemed to do no wrong in the eyes of the judges. She first sang Dionne Warwick’s version of “I Say a Little Prayer,” and then Beyonce’s “Love On Top.” Nicki Minaj joking bowed down to Amber after her first song, and the judges all agreed that “Love On Top” was a smart song choice for her.

Lazaro Arbos’s days might be numbered after he butchered “Close to You,” a tune made famous by The Carpenters. The judges hammered him for having a weak vocal and missing a key change. He later made up for it with a decent rendition of Robbie Williams’s “Angels,” but Randy Jackson summed it up when he said it was now a girls’ competition.

Kree Harrison got lots of love from the judges for her versions of “What the World Needs Is Love” and Kris Kristofferson's “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” with all of them agreeing Kree is ready for the country big leagues. Janelle Arthur underwhelmed everyone a bit with her first song choice, “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again.” But the judges had more positive things to say about her version of Garth Brook’s “The Dance.”

The real winner of the night was Candice Glover, who first sang “Don’t Make Me Over” and later performed a loungey rendition of The Cure’s “Love Song.” She received two standing ovations from the judges, and heaps of praise.

So who do you think deserves to go home after tonight’s American Idol performances? Let us know in the comments below!

I definitely know who should go home.
