Who Should Go Home on American Idol 2013 From the Top 9 March 20, 2013?

The Top 9 will soon become the Top 8 on American Idol 2013. But based on the performances tonight, which Season 12 contestant should be sent packing?

Tonight, the Top 9 took on the prolific songbook of The Beatles, with varying degrees of success.

The standout for the night by far was Candice Glover, who slayed “Come Together” with a rockin’ attitude we haven’t yet seen from her. It was also refreshing to hear an uptempo tune amid all of the ballads that were sung. Burnell Taylor came in at a close second with his effortless take on “Let It Be,” a song he surprisingly hadn’t heard before performing it on the show. He took the opportunity to put his signature sound on the track, which the judges commended him for.

But it wasn’t all praise and kudos for everyone. Lazaro Arbos, who sang “In My Life,” came under the scrutiny of the judges for what Randy Jackson thought was a pitchy performance, a surprise since he’s been a fan favorite for a while now. Similarly, Paul Jolley got some flack for his version of “Eleanor Rigby,” which Nicki Minaj considered to be a bland and safe choice for the singer.

But which American Idol Top 9 contestant do you think deserves to go home tomorrow? Vote in our poll below and let us know!

I wasn't that impressed.

Loved the performances tonight!
