Who Was Eliminated on American Idol Tonight? – February 20, 2013

Who was eliminated on American Idol tonight? We have the results on which contestants made it through, and which ones went home on American Idol during the first night of the Vegas rounds!

On American Idol 2013 tonight, who was eliminated had a huge amount to do with song choices, in my opinion at least. Our current favorite, Angela Miller, absolutely wowed the judges in her solo performance during Hollywood Week with an original song. So it was a wise decision from her to do another original again. The American Idol judges were thrilled yet again, and Angela Miller earned a place in the Season 12 Top 20.

Adriana Latonio barely received any attention in the earlier rounds, but her bravery in picking “Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Frankin impressed the judges. While it may have not been the best Aretha we’ve seen on American Idol, it was quite good and she passed through to the Top 20 without a problem.

Also through to the next round on American Idol tonight were Amber Holcomb, Kree Harrison and Tenna Torres. Amber chose the classic “My Funny Valentine” to perform, which could have been a risky move if she didn’t have the voice to back it up. Luckily, she absolutely did. Kree went for “Up to the Mountain” by Patti Griffin, a gorgeous song and totally in her playing field. Tenna chose a Natasha Bedingfield song and while it wasn’t the best performance of the night, it was worthy of moving on to the Top 20.

Sadly, the song choices for those who got eliminated on American Idol tonight did not pan out so well. Brandy Hotard picked a Travis Tritt song that just didn’t make her shine. Shubha Bedula made the mistake of picking “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga, a song she just couldn’t get a handle on and overwhelmed her. Isabelle Pasqualone could have picked a hundred songs great for her voice, but “God Bless The Child” wasn’t the right one. As for Jenny Beth Willis and Kamaria Ousley, they just couldn’t compete with the other hot talent of the evening.

After it was all said and done, here is the first five contestants in the American Idol Season 12 Top 20!

Adriana Lotanio
Amber Holcomb
Angela Miller
Kree Harrison
Tenna Torres

And here are the five who were sent home:

Brandy Hotard
Isabelle Pasqualone
Jenny Beth Williams
Kamiara Ousley
Shubha Vedula

Do you agree with the judges on who went home on American Idol tonight?
