Who Went Home on American Idol 2014 Top 10 — March 20, 2014?
As much as our cynical hearts love the ruthlessness of American Idol, we’ve got to be totally honest. We’ve gotten pretty attached to this year’s group of super talented contestants. Each Thursday gets harder and harder as we watch yet another one of our beloved hopefuls pack their bags and say goodbye... especially if that (no longer) hopeful starts shedding a few tears themselves. (We hate when people cry!)
Of course, this is a competition show and only one singer can reign supreme. More bluntly put, tonight (March 20) will reveal which remaining contestant got the smallest number of votes from the country.
So who went home from the Season 13 Top 10? All in good time, Idol fans! In the grand tradition of the show, host Ryan Seacrest didn’t announce the eliminated contestant until the last few minutes of the episode. As we waited for the big reveal, we were treated to performances by indie pop group Royal Teeth, as well as our very own Jennifer Lopez. (Even at 44 years old, homegirl still knows how to put on a show better than most of the women half her age!)
In less exciting news, we also learned who didn’t impress the country, therefore earning themselves a seat in the bottom three. Those contestants were Dexter Roberts, Majesty Rose, and MK Nobilette.
Unfortunately, it was MK who got the boot after the judges decided not to use their one and only save of the season. As Harry Connick Jr. put it: “[The save] has to be unanimous... and it’s not unanimous.”
As sad as we are to see MK go, this year’s performances keep getting better and better! We can’t wait to see what the Top 9 pull out of their bag of tricks for next week, and we wish MK all the best in the future!
American Idol returns for the Top 9 performances on Wednesday, March 26!
