The American Idol 2013 results are in and we finally know who won American Idol tonight — Candice Glover or Kree Harrison! Whew! It’s been a long time coming, but after 37 grueling episodes, the new American Idol winner has been named for Season 12. Did your favorite end up with the most votes at the end of the American Idol finale and claim the top prize?
Honestly, if you’d told us sometime around the Las Vegas rounds that the two contestants destined for the American Idol finale would be Kree Harrison and Candice Glover, we would not have been terribly surprised. Both ladies showed very early on that they are incredible performers and amazing vocalists. Either one of them would have made a terrific American Idol winner.
Now, to be honest, we probably would have picked Angie Miller to replace one of them in the Top 2 — probably Kree Harrison. Angie was a favorite of ours right from the start, and after her stunning original song performance during the ladies’ Hollywood Week, we fell in love. Even so, we couldn’t be more pleased for Candice Glover and Kree Harrison to end up as the last finalists standing.
In the end, however, there can only be one American Idol 2013 winner. So who won American Idol tonight and could be the next country music or R&B diva superstar?
And dim the lights... here we go!
After the nationwide vote, the winner of American Idol Season 12 is.
