The Voice Season 6 Winner Revealed! Congratulations…
And that's a wrap on Season 6 of The Voice! After each artist turned in three solid performances in Monday's live final round, America crowned Josh Kaufman as the winner, despite an iTunes malfunction reported by Carson Daly at the top of the two-hour finale. (Carson vowed the thrown-out iTunes results did not affect the ultimate outcome). Josh, a 38-year-old old-school soul singer from Indianapolis, also brought about the first win for his coach, Usher, making this the first time in show history someone other than Adam Levine or Blake Shelton coached the winning artist.
The first artist eliminated this evening was 20-year-old New Jersey vocalist Christina Grimmie, who was a front-runner early on after her impressive performance of "Wrecking Ball" at the Blind Auditions. With more than 2 million fans on YouTube and the promise of a recording contract from her coach, Adam Levine, we're sure she's not going anywhere.
Meanwhile 18-year-old country singer Jake Worthington of LaPorte, Texas has made an honorary uncle in his coach, Blake. And knowing how well Blake has treated past artists on his team, we're sure Jake can count on his mentor to call him up next time he needs support on the road.
We're sure we haven't heard the last from any of these artists!
