Whoa: Andy Cohen Calls Out Simon van Kempen For Spreading Gossip About RHONY Season 5

Uh oh, there’s trouble in Bravo-land for one former House-husband.

Husband of former Real Housewives of New York cast member Alex McCord and honorary Housewife, Simon van Kempen, just can’t stop talking about the new version of the franchise. On Friday, Simon tweeted that his “#BravoSpies” (yes, he used a hashtag) were telling him that Bravo initially wanted to recast the entire show but “this season's in the can so will play out.” Well King of All Things Bravo Andy Cohen wasn’t too happy about that, and he called Simon out!

With all due respect Simon your ‘spies’ don't know s***,” the cheerful Watch What Happens Live host tweeted in response. Ouch, it’s got to hurt when Andy himself pokes holes in our stories in front of the whole world.

Simon responded to Andy’s tweet, saying “respect back atcha” but alleging that Bravo is holding a “post mortem on RHONY Season 5.” He also said that he heard that the upcoming Episode 4 is “gr8.”

Simon isn’t the only former cast member that has been bringing up RHONY. Jill Zarin has been continually tweeting and blogging her mixed emotions about the new show, including dropping hints that her fans should boycott the show and demand her return. Earlier this week, the New York Daily News published a gossip item that said that Bravo was looking to bring back Jill and Alex, but there has been no official comment from Bravo.

The new season, with three fresh new faces, has been struggling, ratings-wise, but it is hardly a flop. RHONY is one of the franchise’s oldest series, and fans need to adjust to the new drama and stories. And, judging by the previews, this season will not be short on drama in future episodes. We’ll stay tuned!

However, we’d be lying if we said that we don’t secretly want at least a tiny guest appearance by Jill or Alex/Simon. Imagine the drama that would get stirred up!

The Real Housewives of New York airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
