X Factor 2013: Why Rion Paige Will Win

Original story (November 15, 2013):

Good things come in small packages as X Factor 2013 contestant Rion Paige has proven time and again. The 13-year-old Jacksonville, Florida, cutie has no problem taking on powerhouse ballads, particularly when they have country roots.

For her audition, Rion sang “Blown Away” by Carrie Underwood, just the first of many a diva she’s covered during her X Factor appearances. The teenage wonder has also performed numbers by Diana Ross, Lady Gaga, and even her own mentor, Demi Lovato. Time and again this little lady has shown she’s not afraid to tackle big songs.

Nor is she afraid to discuss what often catches people’s eyes. “I have arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC),” Rion explained without hesitation during her audition. “It’s basically a whole bunch of words to describe something really simple. My hands are curved differently because of my joints, so I have to learn to do things differently. And I’m almost permanently blind in my right eye.”

As if that could slow down this ascending star! With her happy-go-lucky outlook and unquestionable talent, Rion’s got everything it takes to claim the Season 3 X Factor crown for her cute, curly head.

What do you think? Is Rion Paige the one to beat on X Factor or does she still need time to grow? Cast your votes in the comments below.
