Why Did Tiny Harris Turn Down Real Housewives of Atlanta? (VIDEO)
Could you imagine Tiny Harris on Real Housewives of Atlanta? Sure, Tiny is well known in the reality TV world for shows like T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle and Tiny and Toya before that, but did you know that T.I.’s boo was almost a member of the RHoA cast? Read on for all of the details!
In the video above, Tiny explains to HipHollywood that she’d been approached by RHoA producers to do the show, but she knew of another ATL gal who’d be a better fit: her former fellow Xscape member, Kandi Burruss. “I actually turned them on to Kandi,” Tiny recalls.
But why did the musician/reality star turn down one of the biggest shows on television today? Her reasoning actually makes a lot of sense. “They’re a huge franchise, but for me I’m already an executive producer of every show that I’m doing, so it wouldn’t make sense for me to go on someone else’s show and not be the boss,” she states, referring to Tiny and Toya which ran from 2009-2010 and T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, which premiered in 2011 and is still on the air.
For Tiny, it’s all about control. She continues, “If I’m going on your show and I gotta take orders and I don’t have no say so on how I’m going to look at the end of the day, I’m not gonna do that.” Tiny also notes that on the aforementioned shows she had/has a say on what makes it to air, a luxury the ladies of RHoA do not possess. Instead, the RHoA gals are at the mercy of the show’s producers, which can be very damaging at times.
RHoA may continue to be a monster hit for Bravo, but Tiny isn’t doing too badly for herself!
