Will Nashville Be Renewed for Season 2?

On days when we can’t sleep, can’t eat for our love of Gunnar is too strong, we “keep asking why” Nashville is barely ever on. But that’s not enough, when so much time has “already gone” by and we just want a regular relationship with the ABC show. So, will the show go the way of “boys and buses” and be “buried under” for the remainder of our lives after Season 1 — will ABC decide that “one works better” than two?

Or can we start “yellin’ from the rooftop” that this big budget “sideshow” is going to come “back home” for Season 2? (Is that enough song titles for you? Good. Cuz we’re exhausted.) Well, according to Deadline, nothing has been set in stone for the show’s future. In fact, the recent crop of pilots across all networks has been mostly crap and more new shows will be ordered next season than ever before.

So, do the 98 new pilots hitting our small screen next season mean that Nashville won’t make the cut into having a second season? Not necessarily. As we mentioned previously, Nashville has the added benefit of a built-in revenue stream from sale of the original music featured on the show to keep ABC in the money. And according to Deadline, “Nashville seems the most likely to return” of all the shows that debuted last season.

In fact, although the show was initially only picked up for 13 episodes, ABC ended up giving it the whole season to test the waters. If we didn’t know better, we’d say that’s a pretty good indicator that our favorite folks will be stompin’ back into town for another season...
