RevengeSeason 3 has been doing OK in the ratings this season, but it hasn't been hitting the kind of smash-hit numbers that allow fans to rest easy about its future. Those of you who have been worried that this season might be the show's last should be happy to hear what ABC President Paul Lee said at the ABC Television Critics Association panel.
Paul Lee calledRevenge a "self starter," which is TV industry talk for a very simple concept — it doesn't need to rely on a big lead-in to bring in viewers. TV Networks like shows like that.
Even better? Lee also said "there's a long way to go with Revenge," promising that the writers have a "great idea" for keeping the show going for many more seasons to come.
That's good to hear on two levels. First of all, it means that the network is at least considering a future where Revenge is on the air for a long time. Plus, it's definitely reassuring to hear that the writers are already thinking of ways to keep Emily's story of vengeance going, since we definitely don't want a repeat of the iffy Season 2. Let's hope that whatever the "great" idea is, it doesn't involve any more shadowy conspiracies.

Revenge airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
