In just over a month, Real Housewives of New York will return after more than a year away from our TV screens. And while at first we thought the new season would be filled with lighthearted fun and the customary catfighting, recent developments have led us to fear that this could be the heaviest year yet. So the question we have is, will the end of Ramona Singer’s 27-year marriage play out on camera?
That answer remains unclear, but a source of RadarOnline.com is alleging that the mother of Avery, 19, might have waited to file for divorce until after filming, in order to avoid putting her family through the pain. The insider says that Ramona had become aware of Mario’s infidelity a while ago, but she didn’t confront him about it until “the cameras had long disappeared.”
We’re not sure how true these reports are, but if that was the case, we can’t blame Ramona. Anytime a marriage ends — especially a nearly-three decade long one like Ramona and Mario’s — it can be incredibly difficult and heartbreaking. Who would want to have that documented… and then be forced to relive it later? No, thank you.
Even if she did wait to put the kibosh on their marriage until the season had wrapped, the source says we will still see some signs of the end.
“[Viewers will see] Ramona deal with rumors of Mario’s infidelity … He will hardly be in the upcoming season. They were basically separated during the entire course of filming. Their daughter, Avery, is away at college in Atlanta, and Ramona has been living alone in the New York City apartment for months.”
Real Housewives of New York premieres on March 11 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
