Will There Only Be One Season of Bachelor in Paradise?

Every now and then, a TV show comes along that completely turns our worlds upside down. With everything that we’ve heard about Bachelor/ette spin-off Bachelor in Paradise — not to mention the completely insane-in-a-good-way promo from July 21’s Men Tell All special — this is going to be one of those shows. Now what we really want to know is: Will we get a second helping of BiP?

If the show’s unofficial slogan is to be believed, fans may be out of luck. In anticipation of the August 4 premiere, we’d been seeing #YOPO popping up all over our Twitter feeds, which we came to learn means “You Only Paradise Once.” At first, we thought this was just a silly play on YOLO — real clever you guys — but when producer Robert Mills joined in, we stood up and took note.

“#YOPO #BachelorInParadise,” Millsy tweeted during the Bachelor in Paradise MTA spot.

Meanwhile, other BiP castmembers have been tweeting up a storm with the aforementioned YOPO hashtag, including Marcus Grodd, Sarah Herron, AshLee Frazier, Chris Bukowski, and even Brooks Forester — to name only a few.

But if you only paradise once, does that mean that the show is kaput after this first season? It would make sense, when you consider that Chris Harrison has touted it as the “best show we’ve ever produced.” Once you’ve peaked, you have nowhere else to go but down! But seriously, how do you top a show that combines a cast-crew affair, an unending rotation of love triangles, Clare Crawleyin her element (i.e., making out in the ocean), and a rumored finale engagement?

Ya don’t, is the answer. But we’d love to see ABC try!

Bachelor in Paradise premieres August 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Do you hope that the show comes back for a second season? Sound off in the comments below.
