Don’t leave us, Lucky Charm! Irish Dancing With the Stars pro Tristan MacManus just married his Australian sweetheart Tahyna Tozzi on January 25 near Sydney. Even though Tristan and his actress/model wife are based in Los Angeles, where DWTS tapes, they have plans to relocate to Oz.
“I love it here,” Tristan told the MailOnline earlier this week in Sydney. “We are working on being here more permanently. A couple more years I think and then we will try and move out here.”
So “a couple more years” may be all we have left for Tristan on DWTS. Maybe he’d segue into being a pro or judge in the Australian version, like Kym Johnson, but it would be hard for him to do two seasons of the U.S. show while based in Australia. That’s quite a commute. (Then again, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli commute every week to judge the U.K. version, so it can be done.)
Tristan also told the MailOnline he and Tahyna haven’t had a chance to go on a honeymoon because they’ve been busy with work. “Hopefully in the summer time,” he said. They told Who magazine their careers in L.A. will take precedence over having kids, at least in the next year, however, Tristan added, "I love making Tahyna happy, and hopefully soon we will make someone else between us happy too.” Aww!
The DWTS spring Season 18 will premiere March 17, so hopefully Tristan will be back in the mix and partnered with a real contender. Everyone has to do what’s best for themselves, and if he does decide to leave the show to move to Australia and start a family we’ll be happy for him … and devastated for ourselves. But we can cry over that bridge when we come to it.
Congrats again to the happy couple! Check out a couple of photos from their wedding.
