Ax Men Star William Bart Colantuono Killed in Helicopter Crash
Very sad news as a beloved reality TV star has died after a tragic accident.
William Bart Colantuono, who appeared on the History Channel's hit show Ax Men, died in a helicopter accident on September 17 in an Oregon forest, according to People.
The 54-year-old William was piloting the helicopter and using it to haul logs out of the forest when it crashed. William, who flew the logging helicopter for R&R Logging, was the only person in the helicopter at the time.
It is unknown exactly what went wrong to cause the crash, but witnesses say that William released his logs just before crashing, which is a sign that he knew something was wrong. Apparently, witnesses also saw a rotor separate from the helicopter before it flipped over and crashed.
The shows's producers have issued a statement of condolences to family and friends of the Florida-born pilot. Ax Men debuted in 2008 on History and focuses on the lives of individuals working in the logging industry. William appeared on Season 3 of the show.
Our thoughts are with William's family and loved ones during this very difficult time.
