The Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie could be going from the concrete jungle to the actual jungle — The Wrap reports that she's in talks to play Jane in a new Tarzan movie.
If she signs on the dotted line, she'll be acting opposite True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard, who has already been cast as the titular King of the Jungle.
In Edgar Rice Burrough's Tarzan novels — and the countless films, TV series, radio programs, and stage shows they inspired — Tarzan is a human raised by apes who encounters civilization as a result of his romance with a marooned woman, Jane.
This latest cinematic adaptation will be directed by British filmmaker David Yates, who also helmed the final four Harry Potter films.
The Wolf of Wall Street is making Margot a household name, but the 23-year-old Aussie also had parts in the Australian soap Neighbours, the short-lived ABC series Pan Am, and the recent rom-com About Time.
Margot has four other high-profile movies in the pipeline: the Will Smith rom-com Focus, the Michelle Williams wartime romance Suite française, the crime drama Violent Talent, and the post-apocalyptic survival tale Z for Zachariah.
We just wonder how she feels about the prospect of swinging from vines!
