Woman Unexpectedly Gives Birth in Elementary School Nurse’s Office

Once the ball is rolling, there’s no stopping it! A Florida woman, on a visit to her child’s elementary school, suddenly went into labor, using the nurse’s office as a makeshift delivery room.

The Miami Herald reports that as soon as the mother went into labor, the school nurse and an on-duty school police officer jumped in to help out. The woman gave birth to a baby girl, and then immediately following, walked down the hall and signed the baby up for glee club. Just kidding!

“Mom and baby are doing fine,” said Broward school district spokeswoman Tracy Clark. “We’re so proud of our school staff members.”

Is it strange that the first thought that came to our minds upon reading this was what must the kids in their classrooms be thinking when they hear blood-curdling screams coming from the nurse’s office? As a kid, wouldn’t you be terrified to ever go to the nurse with a sore throat again?

Although it might make the reproduction lesson for that group of kids a bit easier to explain down the road. “Hey kids, you all remember that time you heard a woman screaming her head off in the nurse’s office? Yeah, let’s talk about birth!”

Too soon.
