The Walking Dead Won’t End Anytime Soon, Says AMC CEO

AMC may be on the brink of schedule changes (with Breaking Bad now finished and Mad Men's end in sight) but AMC CEO Josh Sapan says The Walking Dead — which kicks off Season 4 tomorrow night — won’t meet the same fate as those beloved shows — at least not anytime soon.

Speaking at the Barclays Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference a few months ago Sapan assured TWD fans that the network has no plans to end the show. “We hope that zombies live forever, and we’ve just begun to find out what the post-apocalyptic world is like,” he said.

In fact, Sapan even mentioned that he hopes to be talking about The Walking Dead at the Barclay's conference in 2022, noting, “at that point, I think any one of the companies will have replaced the United States government and we’ll be in a complete free enterprise world in which there are no nations.”

While we already miss Breaking Bad and will miss Mad Men as it prepares for its final season in the months to come, we’re relieved to know that TWD will be around for many, many years !

Will you be watching the show all the way into 2022?
