Woody Allen on Daughter’s Sexual Abuse Claim: “Untrue and Disgraceful”
Acclaimed film director Woody Allen's daughter Dylan Farrow has accused Woody of sexually assaulting her. Now, Woody is addressing the claims.
On February 1, Dylan — Woody's 28-year-old adoptive daughter — posted an open letter to the New York Times, claiming that Woody sexually abused her when she was seven years old.
Now, his representative is responding to the claims. "Mr. Allen has read the article and found it untrue and disgraceful," his rep tells People. "He will be responding very soon."
Rumors swirled for years that Woody had allegedly sexually assaulted Dylan. This week, Dylan explained in her own words what she believes happened. After describing an incident when Woody supposedly assaulted her at age 7, Dylan calls out A-list supporters of Woody's.
"What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett?" Dylan writes. "Louis CK? Alec Baldwin? What if it had been you, Emma Stone? Or you, Scarlett Johansson? You knew me when I was a little girl, Diane Keaton. Have you forgotten me?"
Woody is now married to Soon-Yi Previn, whom he adopted with Mia Farrow. Woody married Soon-Yi in 1997.
How do you feel about the allegations? And do you think Woody's repsonse is sufficient?
