Lucy Hale Wrote a Song Inspired By Someone on Pretty Little Liars — “It’s Not Who You Think It Is”
An album can be a very personal endeavour, and it sounds like Lucy Hale (Aria Montgomery) definitely drew from personal experiences on the Pretty Little Liarsset when she recorded the track “Lie A Little Better” off of her upcoming debut country album Road Between. In fact, she told ClevverTVthat the song was inspired by someone she’s worked with on PLL.
“It wasn’t planned because I’m on a show called Pretty Little Liars, I promise,” Lucy said of the lie-themed track. “But, it is inspired by someone that I’ve — I’ll give you a little tidbit — It’s inspired by someone who I worked with on that show, and it’s not who you think it is.” Unfortunately, we will have to wait until the album’s release to mine the song for clues about who she might be talking about, but that “tidbit” definitely piqued our interest. We’re also wondering if the past-tense means the person in question is no longer on Pretty Little Liars. We’ll leave you to make your own deductions.
Though Lucy didn’t give any more clues about who the song’s inspiration might be, she did have this to say about the track: “To me, that’s hands down the most fun song on the record.” Sign us up! We love fun. So far, we’ve rocked out to four of the already-released singles from the album: "You Sound to Me," "Goodbye Gone," "Kiss Me," and "Road Between.” Several of those are pretty fun, so we can’t wait to hear what “Lie A Little Better” might bring to the table.
We'll have to wait another few weeks until the official release of the album on June 3. However, Road Between is already available for pre-order on iTunes, and the aforementioned singles are available for purchase now.
Catch the Season 5 premiere of Pretty Little Liars on June 10, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
