Yesterday X Factor judge Demi Lovato, looking flawless, dropped by Good Morning America for her first interview since the death of her biological father Patrick Lovato last weekend.

“Our heart goes out to you,” said host Robin Roberts before sharing Dems’ heartfelt tweet from earlier in the week.

Demi, who was at GMA to promote the June 27 release of her new single “Made in the USA,” said she’s doing “okay” after the loss of her dad. The two had a difficult relationship with Demi sharing their ups and downs in her 2011 song “For the Love of a Daughter.”

“My father and I didn’t have the most ideal relationship,” she told Robin, “but at the end of the day he’s still my dad and I grew up with him. He was a wonderful person. It’s difficult but I’m handling it okay.”

Helping her cope are the legions of Lovatics who swarmed GMA to see their favorite star.

“The best thing about my fans is that they have stood by me through everything I’ve been through in my life including this past week,” Dems said. “It’s been a really rough week, but I’ve had incredible support from them. They can help me get through anything.”
