Uh oh Simon Cowell fans. If Guardian and OK! UK reports are correct, the X Factor bossman may be on the way out — and The X Factor USA may go with him.

According to The Guardian, Simon’s Syco production company — one of the controlling powers of XFUK — has a contract with the hit show that is scheduled to end this year, alongside the other two partners. And while the ten-year-old show has had some growing pains as of late, some think Simon is just what it needs to get back to its old glory.

"Obviously, everybody to do with the show wants Simon because he gives it an extra quality,” Simon’s PR rep Max Clifford says of moves to try to get the opinionated judge and mentor back to Dreary Old England.

Simon was a judge on the UK version of the talent competition, and was largely responsible for the creation of superstars One Direction, when he plucked five solo singers about to be cut and put them together. He left the show to start XFUSA, but ratings have been much less satisfactory than hoped, and UK ratings dropped last season as well.

So, will Simon stay or go? His rep continues, “we understand that [everyone wants him], but with his commitments over [in the US] he simply can't be in two places at once." Considering Simon has a new baby on the way in New York City, it certainly complicates a possible move across the world. But if the XFUK is truly suffering, will Simon eventually make the choice to return and save it?

What should Simon do?
