On the September 12 episode of X Factor 2013, Rylie Brown blew judges away with her performance of Zedd's chart-topping single "Clarity." Clad in an orange high-lo skirt and a denim vest, we had a feeling the 15-year-old might find a fan in Demi Lovato — considering their similar appearances.
While it wasn't her look that caught the judges' eyes, per se, she certainly turned heads. The Missouri-resident brought her family for support, but lost her nerve and forgot the words to the song, even though she said she "practiced night and day." But no matter, she soon picked right back up and managed to impress the judges to no end.
And surprisingly, it was Simon Cowell who couldn't get enough of the young singer. “You messed up but who cares when you have a voice like that. I absolutely love you. I really, really do. The maturity in your voice, the control over your voice once you remembered the lyrics. I haven’t heard that from a 15-year-old.” Wow, that's high praise coming from someone who doesn't usually give out props that big.
Simon wasn't the only one who loved her. They complimented her on her "rich" vocals and she got an unsurprising four yeses from the judges.
