This guy look familiar to you? If you watched The X Factor 2012 last year, then you just might remember Jeffrey Adam Gutt, the single dad who wowed the judges with his stirring performance of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” JAG made it to boot camp, but was cut before the live shows. Now, he’s back for his second shot at winning it all.

Jeffrey returned for Week 2, Day 1 auditions on September 18. But unfortunately, his second chance at stardom got off to a rocky start. Jeff tried to channel his inner Steven Tyler with a performance of “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing," but the song choice went so poorly with his voice that the judges actually stopped Jeff halfway through and asked him to pick a different song.

Luckily, Jeffrey’s next try knocked it out of the part. He gave a rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep” that sent chills up our spine. Even Simon Cowell was impressed. “When you hit the high parts of the song at the end, it was sensational,” he said. “I am honored to have you back on this show.”

“You are really incredible,” judge Kelly Rowland told him. “This is what you’re supposed to be doing.”

So does JAG end up making it to the Top 16? Find out here.
