When professional women’s football player Lorie Moore hit the stage, we were ready to add her to the long (and we mean loooooooong) list of rejects from Week 3 of X Factor 2013’s auditions stage. And we weren’t alone — judge Kelly Rowland said as much when she gave her feedback. But boy were we all wrong.

Singing Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”, 34-year-old Lorie scored a total touchdown (we know, and we’re sorry, but we HAD to) with judges Kelly and Simon Cowell (Paulina and Demi were absent for an unspecified reason).

“That was more than an audition; it was a performance,” Simon crowed, after saying “wow” at least five times. “This is again why we have no age limit on this show. It’s to find people like you, and you are very, very, very good.”

Kelly agreed, taking the liberty of voting on both judges’s behalfs. “He’d have to be crazy to say no.” And Simon may be a lot of things, but crazy isn’t one of them.

Lorie was floored that the “King of Mean” had such nice things to say about her performance. “To not only get a ‘yes’ but a ‘wow’ is just monumental!”
