We can already hear the chanting for Demi Lovato, and we’re practicing our best squee in preparation for her just-announced Neon Lights Tour. The X Factor 2013 judge posted the news on Facebook on September 29, and we can’t believe how soon it will all kick off!
“So so excited to announce The Neon Lights Tour!!! Tickets go on sale October 5!” Demi’s official page reads, alongside 27 tour dates. The whole shebang begins on February 9, with a concert in Vancouver, British Columbia, then travels through big arenas all over the United States before wrapping up on March 30 in Indianapolis. Surprisingly, she’s skipping big cities like Seattle and San Diego, and playing on the outskirts of others.
Even more exciting than the prospect of Demi playing a show nearby? (Well, nothing is, but just wait for it) She’ll be joined by an all-X Factor alumni lineup — and it’s all women! Demi chatted with Ryan Seacrest for his radio show on September 30 to talk about the tour, announcing that Fifth Harmony and Little Mix will be opening for her!
Demi was instrumental in putting together Fifth Harmony (5H) on The X Factor 2012, and the group finished third on the season, getting a record deal immediately. Little Mix also came out of The X Factor — the U.K. version, when they were put together by the show in the eighth season, eventually winning the show.
“I think it’s going to be so much fun,” Demi gushed to Ryan. “There’s nothing better than woman empowerment and having an all-girls tour.” But though she’s stoked for the tour, it turns out she didn’t even realize how funny it is that they share such close ties.
“What’s ironic is we are all from The X Factor and that wasn’t even planned. It just kind of happened that way,” she explains. As for the title of the tour, it’s fitting for this new venture — especially since she also announced that it’s the name of her next single!
Are you stoked for Demi’s tour? Want to get a presale code? RSVP on Facebook and you’ll get just that. Bam. Winning the week already.
