Our hearts grew three sizes when Carlos Guevara stepped onto the X Factor stage to audition with John Mayer’s “Gravity”. Diagnosed with Tourette syndrome at age 12, Carlos deals with verbal and body tics virtually all day... but not when he sings. To us, it’s no surprise that the 16-year-old from Lexington South Carolina made it one Paulina Rubio’s top 10 Boys. But will he make it to her final four?

While the below video doesn’t confirm whether Carlos earns a seat, we can say with conviction that his rendition of Bill Withers’s “Ain’t No Sunshine” is even better than his audition. That said, Carlos faces some tough competition with another Latino contender, Carlito Olivero.

Battling for a coveted seat on Paulina’s team with Selena’s “Dreaming of You”, Carlito appeals to his mentor to keep him around. “You know I’m Latino, and there’s no Latino in the American market,” Carlito pleads in Spanish, switching to English to tell her he’s not looking for a handout, “just a chance.”

Whether it was his amazing bilingual performance or his impassioned (also bilingual!) speech is unclear, but Paulina does give Carlito a spot on her team. The question is, does he hang onto it? Well, we have some idea on that, but you’ll have to tune in for the final week of Four Chair Challenges to make sure. Same goes for our sweetheart Carlos.

Is there room in the top 16 for both of these Latin sensations? We think so, but it’s up to Paulina!
