Cheryl Cole may have been given the boot from The X Factor back in the show's early days, but she's now having the last laugh.
Cheryl had been suing the show's producers, Blue Orbit Productions, for $2.3 million for money she felt she was due after having been fired. Now, the two parties have settled out of court, with the producers forking over an undisclosed sum to Cheryl, according to BBC. And while it's unclear how much she got, but we're guessing the amount is sizable.
"Cheryl’s dispute with Blue Orbit has been resolved amicably," says Cheryl's spokesperson.
Cheryl was a judge for three seasons of the X Factor UK and had been brought to the U.S. incarnation by Simon Cowell to serve as a judge. But she was soon replaced as a judge by Nicole Scherzinger before the show even hit airwaves. Ouch!
Cheryl had already pocketed a cool $1.8 million for the show's first season. But she filed the lawsuit in December 2012, claiming she had signed a pay-or-play contract and was the $2 million she would have received for Season 2. Plus, she wanted the extra $300K for her wardrobe, stylist, and apartment.
Cheryl also made headlines for her love life recently when she split up with boyfriend Tre Holloway after 14 months together.
Are you surprised that Cheryl got money for Season 2?
