It’s over, you guys, The X Factor 2013 has turned off their gliding mirrors and Alex & Sierra have been crowned the winners! The December 19 X Factor finale was a beautiful laser-lit extravaganza full of dancing girls in fur bikinis and Mario Lopez saying “emotional” so many times, we started to wonder if he knows what that means. One thing we do know is that our favorite couple on TV (sorry, everyone else, fictional or real) has finally ascended the self-powered stairs to singing competition heaven.

Now, with a million dollar recording contract (because Tate Stevens failed to make the $5 million count, and this is why we can’t have nice things), the 22-year-old lovebirds have more money and time to make all of our dreams come true. What’s next for them? Um, we’re voting an engagement stat, followed by a reality show about their lives and recording their album, and then a life in the spotlight forever.

But we’d like to take a moment during all of our merry-making and fist-pumping to lend one quick thought to those of our singing bros who lost out tonight: Carlito Olivero and Jeff Gutt.

Carlito was the first to go, failing to impress fans with his sometimes “peachy” (thanks, Paulina) vocals, but not letting that stop him from giving the world’s longest exit speech. Buh-bye, Carlito. You’re cute and all, but…it just wasn’t enough.

Next to peace out was Jeff Gutt, the single dad who has a kid. Did you guys know he has a kid? And he’s a really good dad and he has a dream, but for now, he’ll have to put it on hold. At least, for the next 24 hours until someone smart scoops him up and makes him the next big gravelly-voiced star, that is. Heck, while they’re at it, Carlito’s available, so someone better get on it.

Congratulations to Alex & Sierra! Are you surprised they won? Tell us your thoughts below!
