We’re having one of those awkward moments on behalf of Britney Spears right now. You know what we mean, the moment when your loudly-touted market value gets taken for a little flush down the wrong side of the pipes?
Although talk has been circulating that Brit is in the midst of a bidding war between a bunch of Las Vegas venues to have her own regular show, it seems that things might have been a little exaggerated (which never happens on the Internet).
According to BuzzFeed, a Caesars Entertainment rep has confirmed that the giant hotel group is not in the mix, as previously reported. "We are packed every weekend,” public relations director Emily Wofford tells the site.” A good situation, no doubt, but not for Brit.
And while the company "is engaged with a number of today's top artists in discussions regarding headlining residencies at our venues in Las Vegas," Britney is not one of them. The residencies currently held by Celine Dion, Elton John, and Shania Twain will run through 2014, so it doesn’t seem like a stage would open up anytime soon.
