Although you guys totally called it, we were still broken hearted when CeCe Frey’s name was called as the first artist cut on the live shows December 6, 2012. CeCe has struggled for the last few weeks of the competition, landing on or near the bottom every week but one.

On the December 5 show, CeCe gave a low-key performance of Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory,” perched on a grand piano. It was lovely, but some of the judges thought she failed to deliver on that song and on Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” — and apparently America agreed.

CeCe took her elimination gracefully, reminding fans to believe in themselves and be the best version of them they could be, and mentioning that she will miss her fellow contestants. “I just haven’t had time to react otherwise I’d be bawling my eyes out cuz I’m just so close to you,” her mentor Demi Lovato remarked after CeCe’s cut was revealed.

Are you surprised? Do you think she was cut too soon? Weigh in below.
