Back in 2009, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez were inseparable BFFs. Both were at the height of their Disney princess fame. They both starred in wildly successful Disney channel TV shows, both had burgeoning music careers, and they even co-starred in a cute Disney TV movie called Princess Protection Program. Basically, Demi and Selena were a match made in heaven.

Then, this perfect friendship suddenly went horribly wrong. In June 2010, Demi had some not-so-nice things to say about her former bestie in Girl’s Life magazine. “We’re both busy, and I wish the best for her. True friends don’t let their friends or family be mean to you. If you can’t trust somebody, you can’t be friends with them.”

This once-perfect friendship had disintegrated into an all-out feud. A few months later, Demi went to rehab for “emotional and physical issues,” following an altercation with a backup dancer during her Jonas Brothers tour.

But that was over two years ago. So where do the two girls stand now? In the time since Demi completed rehab, the pop star has built her career around helping young girls to love themselves for who they are, and not falling into the old traps that led her down a dangerous road of self-hate.

With Demi’s new mindset and outlook on life, it appears that she and Selena have buried the hatchet. The two friends now have nothing but kind words for one another.

In fact, they can’t stop gushing about each other’s music on Twitter! Both Demi and Selena have since parted ways with Disney, but they’re each working hard on post-Mouse-House solo music careers.

Demi released a new single, “Heart Attack,” in February, and her music video debuted just last week. As for Selena, the newly single singer performed her new song, “Come and Get It” for the first time at the MTV Movie Awards on April 14.

The very next day, Demi took to Twitter to gush about how much she loves Selena’s tune. “Umm.. obsessed with Come & Get It - @selenagomez. So happy for you lady. #LiterallyOnRepeat!!!” shewrote.

The next day, Selena returned the love, tweet a screengrab from her phone that proves she’s listening to Demi’s “Heart Attack,” on repeat, too. “:))) @ddlovato” she wrote.

There you have it. Both Demi and Selena literally can’t get enough of each other! Of course, this doesn’t mean they're back to the level of total, inseparable bestie-ness that marked their early careers. They might not be hanging out as much, but that ugly feud of yesteryear is definitely in the past.
