Fifth Harmony has put in some serious vocal box grease on their road to the X Factor Season 2 finale, but their road has come to an end. With all three acts waiting with bated breath, Mario Lopez announced that the girl group, which was thrown together after its members (unsuccessfully) auditioned as solo singers, was done in the competition.

Despite their excellent performances on December 19, it wasn’t enough to keep them in the competition. “We just want to say thank you to anyone who supported us and God bless you... and thank you to our families,” Lauren said. Ally added heartfelt, tearful thanks to her fellow girl group members, reminding them that God put them together.

Their mentor Simon Cowell chimed in saying, “I have a feeling that we’re going to be hearing, and seeing, a lot more from these girls in the future. We have no doubt that plans are already in the works.

So, will it be Carly Rose Sonenclar or Tate Stevens walking away the winner? We will know so soon.
