There’s just not enough time in the day to keep up with FOX’s litany of talent shows. First, we fell in love with Josh Krajcik on Season 1 of The X Factor USA. Now, we’re totally smitten with American Idol’s Phillip Phillips (or Colton Dixon — it’s hard to choose). But there’s one little lady with a big voice who reminds us a lot of fan favorite Rachel Crow: Jessica Sanchez.

Like Rachel, Jessica is already poised for big things. The 16-year-old California native has already won hearts on the small screen, appearing on America’s Got Talent when she was just 11 years old. Also like Rachel, Jessica is an early fan favorite; her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” is the most-watched video on Wetpaint Entertainment’s Idol page thus far.

Rachel, who was just 13 during her tenure on The X Factor, was shockingly eliminated by now-ousted judge Nicole Scherzinger. Nicole later admitted she saved Marcus Canty because she didn’t want to hurt his feelings. We’re not saying the same thing is going to happen to Jessica, but if it does, Rachel is one example of using your onscreen introduction to build a career — while also not letting the competition define your future.

Today, Rachel Crow’s X Factor elimination is already far behind her. The powerhouse 14-year-old signed with Nickelodeon for “an overall talent deal,” and is currently developing a show for the network. Rachel has also landed a deal with Columbia Records under Simon Cowell’s imprint Syco.

We hope for similarly big things for Jessica, who might just in it all on American Idol, but if she doesn’t, we have a feeling Simon Cowell will be waiting in the wings to swoop her up.
