If we had our way, Tate Stevens would have a timeline that looked something like this: 1) Walk us down the aisle at our wedding to all three guys from Emblem3, 2) Sing at our reception(s), 3) Release album. 4) Repeat. But sadly, life is total BS sometimes and people have all sorts of warped feelings about us marrying two brothers. Whatever.

Anyway, back to part three of that scenario: Tate’s first album. Traditionally, the winner of the show sings a song after being crowned — a song which later becomes their first single, and then an album follows... at some point. So, is Tate already on his way to releasing the album we so desperately crave?

After his victory on December 20, Tate spoke to reporters about his plans. “You know, I haven’t really started working on it yet, I just know what we’re doing, I know where I’m going, I know the direction I want to go.” Yeah, we know the direction we want it to go also: into our hot hands.

So, will the album mainly focus on country, as Tate did on The X Factor? It seems that way. Tate told us, “It’s going to be fun.  I’m going to have some songs on there that are going to be fun. I’m going to have some of the tug at your heart kind of country ballads, but you know, I want to have fun. I’m a fun guy, I love having fun, so I want that to come through on my record.”

As you know, Tate’s win came with a five million dollar recording contract with Syco Entertainment (Simon Cowell’s label). It also comes with a video funded by Pepsi. Let’s hope he keeps the back-up dancers to a minimum unless they’re all dressed in matching embellished shirts and cowboy hats...

UPDATE: Tate tweeted on January 4, "Had a great time going through songs for my album yesterday! Can't wait! Hope everyone is as excited as I am about it!!!" Don't worry, Tate. We are.
