Katy Perry Inspired One Of Britney Spears' Biggest Hits!

Britney Spears is Queen of the Universe, but we have some shocking news: Girlfriend doesn't write her own songs. Ok, maybe it's not that shocking (most pop stars have help penning their lyrics), but the real stunner? One of Britney's biggest chart-toppers, "Hold It Against Me," was inspired by none other than Katy Perry!

"It was actually inspired by Katy because I was writing with her at the time and I went in the other room where I was working on Britney in between," songwriter Bonnie McKee tells The Hollywood Reporter. "She came into the room in some tight, sexy little dress and I jokingly said, 'Damn, Katy if I told you you had a nice body would you hold it against me?' I was like, 'Bingo!' and I wrote that song."

Hmm, we're not sure how Britney would feel about her song being inspired by the competition, but apparently she's none the wiser! "I don’t think [she knows]," Bonnie says. "I never actually got to meet Britney when we worked on the album, which is funny because I’m singing a lot of it. But she knows who I am, and she’s been really sweet about praising me."

Aww, how nice of Britney to bestow praise on a mere mortal. But let's get to what's important –– will "Hold It Against Me" forever remind you of Katy Perry now that you know the truth behind the lyrics? Hit the comments!
