L.A. Reid on The X Factor USA's Astro: "He's a Success"

To hear X Factor judge L.A. Reid tell it, we all might as well pack up our TiVos and go home, because the show’s over, and Astro won!

Granted, that’s not exactly what L.A.’s saying, but his opinion of fourteen-year-old Brian Bradley is so...well, astronomical that it comes close. When asked about his impressions just after Astro’s elimination, Reid said, “The first thing that entered my mind was that this kid’s already made it. He’s a success. All he has to do now is write and perform his way to the top.”

Reid does admit that “loveability” had a huge effect on last week’s results — if he had to rank the members in terms of loveability, then yeah, the people who went home were definitely supposed to go home. (Hysterical Drew fans might disagree!) All the same, though, L.A. thinks that Astro’s sometimes abrasive personality worked just fine for him. “He made it to the top seven — that’s a huge success. … And I’m proud of him.”

We’ll have to keep our ears to the ground regarding what becomes of Astro. The way L.A. goes on, the kid does seem to have a bright future ahead of him.
